Comparison of objective metrics for evaluating the quality of audio signals
Landsmann, Adam ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Záviška, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of objective testing of sound quality with a comparison with the subjective type of evaluation. The work describes the phenomena in the interpretation of sound through the human auditory organ, possible types of damage to the audio signal and selected types of both objective and subjective methods for evaluating sound quality. Six metrics are included from each type of testing, three of which are selected for comparison. Subjective listening tests were demonstrated using a web interface in accordance with the selected method. After sufficient data were collected, the results were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance. The final comparison of the results of listening tests with the values of objective metrics was proved by regression and correlation analysis.
